A framework for Comminution Circuits Design evaluation using grey compromise programming

    Get PDF
Comminution process, particularly grinding, is very important in the mineral processing industry. Some characteristics of ore particles, which occur as a product of grinding process, have a significant impact on the effects of further ore processing. At the same time, this process requires a significant amount of energy and also significantly affects the overall processing costs. Therefore, in this paper, we propose new multiple criteria decision making model based on grey compromise programming for adequate comminution circuit design selection. Although it is based on a simple procedure, we consider that the proposed model is efficient and flexible, and that it also represents the basis for forming more sophisticated models for comminution circuit design selection, as in addition, many other decision making problems in business environment, which is characterized by predictions and uncertainty

Linear programming is a very useful method for optimising projects, goal and managing production in mineral industry where goals are accomplished in coditions of limited natural resources. This study gives a general form of the mathematical model of linear programming of production projects in mineral industry and a numerical example of its application in practice

An objective multi-criteria approach to optimization using MOORA method and interval grey numbers

Many real-world problems are complex and/or related to the manifestation of some form of uncertainty and/or prediction. Therefore the use of extended MCDM methods is more appropriate than the use of the other classic decision making methods. These methods are improved by the use of a form of fuzzy or interval grey numbers. In the field of operational research, during the previous period, numerous MCDM methods were formed, but one newly proposed, the MOORA method, is very specific and yet has no extension. Therefore, in this paper we combine concept of interval grey numbers and MOORA method in order to propose extended MOORA method which will be more appropriate to solve many complex real-world problems

Cytomorphometric and Clinical Changes in Gingival Tissue after Subgingival Tooth Preparation—A Pilot Study

Tooth preparation for a metal-ceramic crown with a subgingival finish line can lead to inflammatory changes in the gingival tissue, often accompanied by cell damage. This study aimed to evaluate the clinical signs of inflammation and the cytomorphological status of the gingival tissue before and after tooth preparation. The research included a homogeneous group of 19 patients with an indication for upper canine preparation. Before and after treatment, the gingival and the gingival bleeding indexes were determined, gingival swabs were taken, and direct smears prepared on slides for cytomorphometric analysis. The values of the measured gingival indexes were statistically significantly higher (p p p < 0.001) were found after 72 h, compared to those taken 15 min after tooth crown preparation. This study is a pioneering attempt to show gingival changes during fixed prosthodontic treatment and may shed new light on pathogenetic events in prosthodontic patients
